Showing January 6 - January 13, 2025.
"My Favourite Things is an exhibition that showcases not only my favourite works but also the ideas that inspire me most. Including themes from the nuances of everyday life to the deeper questions of existence, the selected pieces weave together many stories, each offering a unique perspective. Taking inspiration from many modern and contemporary artists, my work forms and reforms through each piece. Oftentimes playful, my work shows how my own perspective changes based on personal experience as well as the knowledge I gain.
This exhibition serves as both a mirror to my inner world and a lens for examining humanity. Through my art, I aim to express what words often cannot: personal emotions, pressing societal issues, and universal truths. These narratives frequently feature beings and objects as metaphors for human behaviour, creating a space where viewers can reflect and engage with these ideas from a safe distance.
By heightening everyday situations and drawing upon my personal experiences, I craft allegories that are both relatable and thought-provoking. Oftentimes, each piece has a whole story that can be seen through many different perspectives, revealing different things about ourselves. My creative process spans a range of media, including marker, watercolour, print, and found materials, allowing me to experiment with texture and form to bring these stories to life.
My Favourite Things invites viewers to explore the intersection of the personal and universal for themselves, creating a space for a childlike sense of wonder about the world and its many mysteries, stories, and ideas. In doing so, it offers a collection of works that inspire reflection, connection, and imagination."
