"In tripping over roots, I work to celebrate the beauty of the natural world; the space in which I feel most inspired. By creating art out of the life I find around me I am able to engage more deeply, as well as learn more about these subjects than I would with passive observation. To have sculpted, painted, or drawn a natural object is to understand it on a core level.
Working with organic material is an important part of my process, which leads me towards mediums such as graphite, watercolour, or clay. The colours and patterns in my work create their own internal ecosystem within the piece, just as the subjects exist within the balance of their own natural ecosystem. These works, as well as my practice, is a form of offering to the
space, natural world, and those who live within it."
